Masnavi (Mathnawi) by Rumi, is considered one of the greatest poems of the Persian language. Rumi has been described as the "most popular poet" and one of the "best selling poet" in the United States.

Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī Balkhī ( جلال ‌الدین محمد رومی بلخی‎), also known as مولانا )our master(,مولوی Mevlevî or Mawlawī (meaning "my master) and more popularly known in west as Rumi. Rumi was a 13^th century Persian poet, jurist, scholar, theologian, and Sufi mystic.  Rumi's influence transcends national borders and ethnic divisions: Iranians, Tajiks, Turks, Greeks, Pashtuns, other Central and South Asian Muslims, have greatly appreciated his spiritual legacy for the past seven centuries. His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages and transposed into various formats.
